Galway Fashion Trail-March 2016 #ITWBN

The Event

On Saturday March 12th I was lucky enough to attend the Galway Fashion Trail thanks to ITWBN and Galway Now Magazine which cumilinated the end of what was a very successful Galway Fashion week in the City of the Tribes....the Fashion Tribes if what was on offer is anything to go by! The Fashion Week is the brainchild of Golden Egg Productions. There were many events through the week including the Fashion Innovation Awards which looked fabulous!  So much talent in Galway and lots of style available in the amazing shops throughout the city!

Back to that shortly - I must start with how the day started and what an amazing start it was - a wonderful Blogger Breakfast arranged by the equally wonderful Sinead and Saibh of ITWBN. We all met at Colm Quinn BMW where the spread of food was top notch, with smoothies and coffee to wash it all down with (the machine matched your coffee to a particular BMW...classy and if only!) and did I mention the bubbles too...well there was! Bubbles in the morning...is that allowed??Well it was that day;)

One day! #dreaming

It was as Saibh said a morning of "Bubbles, Bloggers and BMW's!" We were looked after so well there and then we were all chauffered into our first show of the day by a convoy of BMW's! From a trip in a BMW to stepping out on a red carpet...#lovingit!

First up Don't Call Me Dear which are the same fabulous shop but now with a style studio too. They can help style you for any special upcoming event! Check out their site here and photos below of the style on offer! The red jumpsuit definitely jumped out as a showstopper piece for me!

Second stop was Willow which have a range of dressy and casual attire and great accessories too. I loved the array of styles on offer here and I loved the quote that they have on their wall....as if I need an excuse! Natasha Heaslip Jewellery was also showcased and it is very unique and eyecatching. Check out the website here.

Last stop before the break was Kilkenny. The show case was held upstairs which I had not been to before and I loved all the quotes on the wall. It was a great spot for a fashion show and aswell as some fab pieces on show that would be perfect for the races or a wedding, they also showcased Andrea Tighe Millinery which I love!

Break-time!

There was a break next and we had some grub in the recently opened Noodle House on Middle Street which was very tasty. We felt re-fueled and ready for more!  A few of the bloggers had won a voucher for a hot whiskey in Garavans so we stopped by there after the food. I didn't have one myself but I have been reliably informed that they were very tasty and they did look pretty good! We had a quick look at the Rugby score too, like the day itself it was a good one for Ireland so all was well!

Back on the trail!

After the break there was the fabulous PIA...I love this shop, they have some fab pieces, lots of "wow" dresses and the Freddy jeans - they were referred to the "wonderbra of jeans"...I need a pair! Vivienne Martin showcased her jewellery designs on the day which were amazing especially for a magpie like me. I also love PIA's selection of designer inspired accessories. I already have pearls and a bracelet and I had my eye on a chain that I ended up purchasing on the day as there was 20% off...I had to! From the photo below, can you guess which one it was?

Guess which one...?

Next up was the Treasure Chest where we were greeted by the Milliner Suzie Mahony at the door! We had chats and a look around the lovely iconic store that is the Treasure Chest, with a glass of bubbly in hand, before we enjoyed their show which included Suzy's fab pieces

Following this was Gosh! Shoes which showcased a range of what was available and also included pieces from Galway Hat Shop to compliment some of the shoes on show and would work well for a special occasion.

Last but by by no means least was Colette Latchford. Another great range of outfits suitable for many special occasions. Brid O'Driscoll was also on display, she is another very talented Milliner.

A big shout out, as I round off the shows, has to go to Catwalk Models...everything worked so seamlessly throughout the day when moving from shop to shop. They made it all look so effortless!

That was then a wrap and tired but happy, we carried our weary bones after a fun and fashion filled day to The Skeff Bar where we were kindly treated to fabulous cocktails and very tasty food. This was welcomed very gratefully by us all as we and our phones re-charged after the day! As the evening progressed we started to go our own way, all of us happy to have experienced the day thanks to ITWBN and Galway Now and happy to have caught up with old friends and met new ones as we bonded over Blogging!

Yum..(thanks to Kerrie for the photo)
